A night of alt-folk, soul-infused singer-songwriters and pop is coming up this Saturday 14th August at Mr Boogieman Bar. Duxie and Fennec first met at the Melbourne Storytellers event in Bar 303 in 2019 and stayed in touch due to a shared musical love for atmospheric pop. Fennec’s film-like music paints pictures of red deserts, lonely cowboys and broken hearts. Friends of Fennec, Oddie Room Project bring a sugar-sweet soul-pop fusion which delivers sing-a-long favourites such as ‘Waterfalls’ and ‘Wannabe’. Best described as ‘the musical love-child of Joni Mitchell and Frank Zappa’, Duxie Franklin provides sass and spice in her well-rounded musical offerings, crossing through folk, alt-pop and rock.
