NEW Single 'Lucky Charm'

‘Lucky Charm’ was launched at The Wesley Anne with supports from Louis and Lucy Patterson

Kitschy Coo

A prowling guitar opens 'Kitschy Coo', bordering on menacing that quickly dissolves as Duxie's dreamy yet zany voice sings about making a fool of herself to attract the attention of an unworthy suitor.

A soulful almost playful alt-rock groove builds with spacious but buoyant drums and noodling, delightful bass flourishes, the song incorporating elements of funky country, bluesy pop, and alternative noir, mingling together for a cruisy yet intoxicating blend.

"'Kitschy Coo' was written about an experience of being foolishly infatuated with someone," shares Duxie.

Watch Your Soul EP

‘Watch Your Soul’ is Duxie’s long-awaited debut EP, culminating two years of writing, refining and recording. The EP is spearheaded by the recently released single, ‘It’s Time’, praised as “engaging and emphatic with a voice that melts quicker than an ice cream on a summer's day” (The Soundcheck).
Duxie’s immense musicality and lyricism is displayed across the board, expressing a spectrum of sentiments from cheeky exuberance to poetic introspection.

It’s Time

‘It’s Time’ explores darker sonic territory than her previous singles – the sparkling ‘Watch Your Soul Sink’ and the boisterous punk-pop ‘Get a Real Job’. As Duxie’s first largely self-produced offering, Duxie draws on her natural affinity with vocal harmony in the swirling chorus, which echoes eerily with her choir of ghostly voices. A pounding kick drum and restless bass line propel the song forward with relentless menace.

The song was recorded between several home studios over a number of months. “It took a while to figure out where I wanted the song to sit in terms of sounds and instruments. I started with the bass line which kind of became the core driver for the song and everything built up from there.”

Watch Your Soul Sink

'Watch Your Soul Sink' debuted on Happy Mag Blog and features endearing vocal melodies and textured instrumentation. Duxie's "whimsical blend of folk, pop and indie-rock" has travelled in a different sonic direction from her debut single 'Get a Real Job', however her trademark charm still shines through.

Get a Real Job

"A rollicking frolic through the minefield of gainful employment."
Catchy, tongue-in-cheek and high energy job-seeking fun with Duxie's trademark whimsical sparkle.
